Calgary BR Tech was founded by Anderson Oliveira in response to a gap in the local community—Brazilian IT professionals in Calgary had few places to meet, network, and grow professionally. Anderson envisioned a space where these professionals could come together, share experiences, and support each other in their careers.
The journey began on February 22, 2024, with our first event at the Calgary Public Library in Seton. With 30 people in attendance and insightful talks from Fabiano Netto and Alexandre Canevari, the group immediately found its footing. The enthusiasm and demand for more gatherings were clear, leading to two more successful editions at the Calgary Public Library in Quarry Park.
As the community grew, so did our team. Starting with the fourth edition, Julio Falbo joined the organizing team, bringing new energy and ideas to the group. This edition also marked a key partnership with Platform Calgary, providing us with a dedicated space to host our events and elevate the quality of our gatherings.
By the end of 2024, Calgary BR Tech will have hosted six editions, featuring ten accomplished speakers who shared their expertise with a growing audience. Over 80 people have joined us across these events, strengthening the bonds within our community and pushing each other to new heights in their careers.
Calgary BR Tech is more than just an event series; it’s a thriving, supportive community for Brazilian IT professionals in Calgary. Together, we are building a space for continuous learning, networking, and professional growth. Join us and be part of this exciting journey!
